Privacy Policy

Version 4 · Effective 2026-11-02

tetha is a vehicle tracking service operated by Qraalys Analytics ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information tetha collects when you use the tetha app or website at app.tetha.net (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Your account

When you create an account we collect your name, email address and the country you're in and, if you give it, your phone number. We store your password only in a scrambled (hashed) form.

Your vehicles and trackers

For each vehicle you add we store the name you give it, its licence plate, its type, the IMEI number of the GPS tracker fitted to it and the phone number of the SIM card in that tracker. If you give them, we also store its make, model, year and VIN.

If you set up engine cut-off, we store that a cut-off relay is fitted and any SMS commands you save for the tracker. These commands often contain the tracker's password, so we show them only after you confirm a one-time code.

Tracker data

Your trackers send us your vehicles' location, speed, direction, ignition state and time, and other readings the tracker reports. From these we build each vehicle's trip history. A vehicle's location can reveal where the people using it go, so treat it as personal information.

Places and alerts

We store the places you draw on the map and the alerts and notifications they produce.

The tetha app

When you allow notifications, the app registers a push-notification token with us so we can send you alerts. The token is removed when you sign out or delete your account, and you can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings. The app does not collect your phone's own location: vehicle locations come from your trackers.

Installer codes

If you enter an installer's code, we record which installer referred your account and which vehicles the code was entered with, so that we can credit the installer. We don't give installers your location or your vehicles' location.

If you register as an installer, we collect your name, email address, phone number and country, and the town or area you work in if you give it. We use them to send you your code, contact you about the installer scheme and work out what your code brought in. You can ask us to correct or delete them at the contact address below.

Security records

We record sign-ins and important account actions, with the IP address and browser or app used, to protect your account and investigate misuse.

2. How we use it

  • To run the Service: show your vehicles on the map, keep their trip history, produce trip reports and send the alerts you set up.
  • To send you service emails, such as confirming your address, resetting your password, alerts and reports you ask for.
  • To send you service notices in the app, such as planned maintenance, a problem affecting the Service or a new version of the app. They arrive as notifications alongside your alerts and stay in your Alerts list. They are rare and never advertising.
  • To plan the Service for the countries our customers are in, such as prices, payment and support hours, using the country you give us.
  • To keep the Service and your account secure, and to prevent misuse.
  • To answer you when you contact us.
  • To improve the Service, using aggregated information that does not identify you.

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Who we share it with

  • Service providers who run parts of the Service for us and may only use the information to do so: hosting (our servers are in Germany), email delivery, and push-notification delivery (Google Firebase).
  • Maps and addresses. To show street names and addresses, the coordinates of a point on your map, such as where a trip started or ended, are sent to address-lookup providers (currently HERE, Google and OpenStreetMap Nominatim, and BigDataCloud on the web). Map images are loaded from map-tile providers, which can see the area being viewed. None of them receives your name or email from us.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect people's safety or rights.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. If you sign up but don't confirm your email address, we delete the account about a day after the confirmation link expires, which is 7 days after we send it. Asking for a new link starts the 7 days again, and you can sign up again at any time.

When you delete your account, we delete your vehicles, their tracker links, all location and trip history, your places, alerts and notifications, and your account details straight away. We keep the security records described above, no longer linked to your name or email.

5. Your choices and rights

You can see and change your account details and vehicles in the app at any time. You can delete your account, and everything in it, from app.tetha.net/delete-account.html. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected, or to object to how we use it. Contact us to do so.

6. Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure: keep your password to yourself.

7. Children

tetha is not meant for children. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

8. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we give it a new version number and ask you to accept it the next time you sign in.
